brickbats and concerns apart few people believe in the concept and are ready to put the money where their belief lies. So if you can do something about it do it. Other suggestions are ok may be they can be made in the other thread where there is a discussion about media attention.
Gandhi - giri works everywhere and it has worked in this country too, have you heard about civil disobedience in this country too.. if you did not then you might want to use our fav : google and look it up. - Rosa parks , does that ring a bell? sometimes simple things take you farther than highly publicized event.

The trick is to say that you have unrestricted work authorization, i.e., can work for any employer without needing additional sponsorship. Stating that you have an EAD may be confusing to some and they may just take the easy way out by not pursuing further, or, wilfully rejecting to avoid any kind of complications later on that could jeopardize the specific project by suddennly being unable to work.
When I looked for jobs I have seen employers or reqruiters asking what is my status and if I say I have EAD some of them will say "OK, no problem" but will not get back because they have instruction from hiring managers to hire only GC or USC. The hiring manager may not be well informed enough or may not want to deal with things with USCIS (perception, because all USCIS wants is a verification letter which is common and other agencies like Banks, DMVs etc.. may also request the same)
I have noticed that a lot of people are not comfortable about dealing with USCIS - it could be a stigma.

The ones who are not staying in line and cutting ahead are the EB3 folks who are porting to EB2 ! Their line is the EB3 line. But they want to cut into the EB2 line whenever convenient. Atleast thats how most EB2 (and EB3) folks perceive the PD porting process.

Oct 09 bulletin indicates jan 22 2005, they should have Visa numbers atleast to cover all the 2004 eb2 in september.How they can calculate so accurately, I am guessing that there could be some more extra visas that may be available at the end of September.If that is not happening then visa numbers could be lost. For eg: If some 2004 cases are not approved by the end of the month for what ever reasons then there will be some visas available which may advance visa dates furthur. So the big question is what will USCIS do with still left visas? Will they approve beyond 5 Jan 2005,with out bulletin being current or just waste Visas?

Just got my checks cashed for I-485. I did not apply for EAD or AP with my 485.
Btw.. I did not have my medical exam and used the wrong G-325 form but still got receipted. I hope the second application I sent in does not cause any issues. :(

That lawsuit Idea is still very much alive but not relevant to this. Plus that idea will take some time. I also don't beleive I had been unethical.
The bottomline, you would agree, the reason we all are lurking on this forum is to get our GC. I can assure you and the other core members of one thing, I will not do anything which is I beleive is unethical on not within the boundaries of the law.
The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. EB2 will no longer going accept porting so we will go faster and then guess what you didn't even file the law suit yet....you let us down!!
I have a humble suggestion for you, please concentrate on your work and read some books on ethics and leave the GC processing to CIS.

blaming Argentinian coach/ naturalized players on Football World Cup elimination!

Argentines are not that much different from persons from Mexico as to their ethnicity and racial composition. Secondly the views of a few angry callers should not get a country labelled for a social ill just as the minute men and some supremacist groups do not make the US predominantly racist. We're loosing the focus here, this is not about this country or that country its about the immigrant community and the challenges we collectively face.

In my case, i do not have a valid H-1B visa stamp. I recently visited India and used Advance Parole. Questions related to this
1) do i need to surrender my PAROLE I-94 before departing USA?
2) does canada immigration officer ask me why i have applied for canada gc while my USA gc is in process?:confused:

If you wanna return to the US from Canada, you either need to have H1B visa or AP.
Your Canada Immigration Officer may ask why you want to settle in Canada and you should have a convincing explanation.

Yup, kshitijnt you are right on target, we need to do some thing constructive and let our voices heard.
BECSufferer made it right heading...channel your anger.
My intention was more to think in right way and discourage potential -ve result bound strategies.
During presidential campaign there were all over promises on clearing backlogs, we can go on that basis and make a point of that.
One thing is clear if they like to stop outsourcing sure they have to encourage and stream line legal immigration they cannot stop or survive but cutting outsourcing as well leaving this legal immigration in limbo.
Besides what we can do at this juncture, keep our voices heard by contacting, writing letters.
1. In a world leading country processing a decade back applications is not an encouraging trend to legal immigration, this may send a wrong signal to legal immigration over illegal immigration.
2. Can highlight ecomonic point based on these math...
Ex: 500,000 EB backlog persons contribution to the country, social taxes = xxx, medicare = xxx, travel=xxx, housing =xxx.

Instead of working on recapture..we must work on filing for 485 even if PD's are not current.. this way.. atleast in this recession ppl can be assured of some piece of mind.
visa recapturing will not happen..am not being pessimistic..its just too much of a hassle...needs a law and all that.. too complicated.
allowing to file for 485 can be bought back as a temporary relief..we should work on that!
I fully agree with this suggestion. This will greatly alleviate the suffering of the population who missed Jul 07 irrespective of EB2/EB3. The only way we can get the interim benefits (EAD/AP) is that the date crosses our PD's again which in the pre-adjudicated world is going to take a while. Any thoughts suggestions welcome.
