As far as ideas for mode of Re-imbursement,
it is quite simple and straightforward I think.
1. Publish Aman's address,
2. Instruct all pledgers to send cheques to his address made Payable to "Aman Kapoor".
3. Publish a letter template, which states something to the effect "I am hereby sending a cheque for $xx to re-imburse Aman Kapoor for his expenses incurred while fighting for the rights of legal high-skilled immigrants. I am fully aware that this contribution is not intended to be used towards the Immigration Voice Non-Profit Fund and that it is specifically for re-imbursement of past expense incurred by Aman. I am fully aware that I am sending this amount of my own will out of gratitude towards him for fighting for my rights. I hereby also waive all my rights to request him to refund this amount or to file any litigation in this matter."
4. All pledgers have to send this signed letter along with their cheque.
Note:
- i have not thought about tax consequences and we should not discuss that here as it is a personal matter, rather you can chat with Aman and fine tune this method.
- it may be easier to set up a Administrative expense account within IV for this purpose as this may be ongoing affair, expenses incurred by core team is bound to keep going up in future.

May god give you the courage to handle the stress and resposibality you have now.
I keep trying to convince.."Did i realy read that posting or was it just a bad dream"..unfortunalty its not a dream..!!!
Do get it checked from well know doctors. Here is a youtube version of comenecement speach given by Steve Jobs. Even he was diagnized with cancer and he spent whole day thinking of his resposibality. But that evening the doctors realzied it was curable cancer and were in tears ..!!!

I'm confused!
I am July 2nd filer from last year. I did receive a FP notice in Oct 2007 but couldn't go for it. I sent a letter asking for another date but TSC..So go figure!
Now my FP is not done and I am current next month.
My company does only paper based filing for EAD. (Is e-filing costly?)
Will I not get any FP notice again?
I have tried calling TSC and no response after putting a SR. I tried dropping in at an ASC here and they didn't take my FP either..
Does paper based filing not trigger FP? Is it slower?
Hmm, urs is a unique case, but as far as i can tell u need to have FP done, that is the process, your lawyers may be able to help, have u contacted them?

They are not personal checks. So there is no way for me to find if the checks were cashed or not. But attorney said, it takes minimum two weeks. But it looks like many have gotten their receipts.

I am EB2 - July 3rd 9:03 AM - R WIllialms - Nothing received yet ..
I called up yesterday and the lady on the phone tells me that we need to wait 90 BUSINESS days before we can raise a service ticket etc - Which is like 4 months nearly - November 2nd.
Anyone else got a similar response ?
To my knowledge its not business days, its 90 calendar days.

Guys even H1B increases are not that bad. A lot of our spouses could get jobs on h1b if it was open just now. Ultimately isint that what we want? Both husband and wife working?
I know that it could have a possible effect on the EB but I think a LOT of our spouses could work if the H1B quota was available. I know atleast 2-3 such friends whose wives can easily get jobs if the H1B was open.

When is the next congress session? is it in Nov/Dec (the so called lame-duck session). I am wondering about chances of having some immigration measures during that session. Being a lame-duck session, do congressmen can take up a serious measure like immigration for discussion (either CIR or SKIL)? If not - is it possible to introduce some highly desirable stop-gap measures like: ability to apply for 485 during retrogession; recapturing the unused visa numbers from previous years with soft country limits (as is done a few years back); and faster backlog reduction at BEC�s. In short I am wondering about our strategy for next 4-5 months; and is there a hope - however small it maybe � hope of getting something done this year; Or our only hope is with next congress?

Every contract must have well defined terms. Since date for I-485 approval is not known, such contracts are difficult to stand in court of law. However, if it says "the employee must work for 2 years or 6-months after I-485 approval date (whichever is earlier) otherwise he/she will pay all GC related expenses" then the contract is more likely to be enforceable.
All depends on the wordings of the contract.
Please consult a good lawyer BEFORE signing any contract.
